Bond Reports

When an offender is arrested there is usually a bond set if the offender is eligible.  In case where the offender remains in jail for an extended period or the bond is believed to be to high for the offense, a motion is made by the defense attorney requesting a lower bond.  In these cases the court may order a bond report be prepared by the probation department.  Information is gathered pertaining to the offender’s current family situation, employment, substance abuse, mental health, education, criminal record, and the report may also contain any recommendations for services.
